Passengers travelling with budget carrier Cebu Pacific were given safety instructions via a toe-tapping flight safety dance routine to the Lady Gaga tune “Just Dance” and “Don’t Stop” by Kesha.

The test flight for this new and un-orthodox safety demo presentation was filmed by a stunned passenger on his phone. The video has since gone viral on the Social Media Network, especially YouTube with over seven million hits in its first week.

The orange-clad cabin crew are treated to a round of applause at the end of the presentation, perhaps not the usual reaction to aircraft safety instructions about oxygen masks, lifejackets and how to find the exits, but I like it!

Candice Iyog, the airline’s vice president for marketing, said:

“We have always been a fun and very family-oriented company,” she told AFP. “The reaction has been positive. The passengers did pay attention.”

The airline hired professional choreographers to teach the handpicked female cabin crew to help turn passengers’ attention away from the windows, and back towards their safety presentation.

If you had just paid £850,000 for the one of the worlds fastest production cars, you’d be a little more careful with it, and try not to dump it into a lake at over 100 MPH …. Don’t you think?
